Two individual recipients of the AWE Pettman Scholarship (formerly the ROSL Pettman Scholarship) are selected each year from the pool of past and present AWE Emerging Artists. Selection is based on the quality of AWE Emerging Artist performances and participation within the AWE Festival, selections being made by AWE Directors Benjamin Baker and Justine Cormack, AWE Trustee Barbara Glaser, and in consultation with previous and current AWE Festival Artists.

Once selected, AWE Pettman Scholarship recipients work with AWE Directors to develop a tailored programme of overseas activities, with the aim of directly benefiting their future study and career opportunities.

AWE Pettman Scholars will be supported to grow their academic and professional networks, arrange lessons, workshops, and performances, and pursue whatever opportunities best serve their musical development.
